The merger agreement between the political party “Alliance Moldova Noastra” with the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova was publicly signed today by the presidents of the two political parties: Serafim Urechean and Vlad Filat.
The Agreement stipulates the merger by absorption of the AMN, according to the Civil Code. The unified party will keep the legal personality, name, acronym, permanent sign and the electoral sign of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova.
Vlad Filat mentioned that an important exercise for the joint team of LDPM and AMN concerns the local elections. "We want to obtain a result that would ensure full participation in the governing process, so that it is visible also at the local level," LDPM president said.
Serafim Urechean stated that signing the merger agreement is a natural process, a wish of both the AMN team and the democratic electorate. “Strengthening the democratic forces is vital for Moldova's future", Urechean said.
Vlad Filat said that "it is the first time for our country when a notable political party has decided to contribute to the strengthening of political forces."
The merger agreement between LDPM and AMN will enter into force after the congresses of both parties will vote on the merger decision. These will be held on April 9th and April 10th respectively.
