Today, January 15th, Vlad Filat announced the joint decision of the AEI to overcome the constitutional crisis. In a briefing held by AEI leaders, Vlad Filat said the AEI decided to hold a constitutional referendum in order to simplify the procedure for electing the president.

Referendum will be held no later than April.

Vlad Filat stated that starting with January 16th the constitutional experts will develop a bill to turn Moldova into a democratic European country.

"This is the decision of the AEI. It is a joint decision that will be implemented jointly, for Moldovan citizens", Vlad Filat said.
